Robert W. Anderson, also known as Robbie Obbie #258, passed away on September 22, 2023 (April 14th, 1961  September 22nd, 2023), at his home in New Egypt, NJ. He was 62 years old and surrounded by his family. Robert was born in New York, NY, and lived in Lakewood Twp., NJ, before settling in New Egypt 15 years ago.

Robert proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Lebanon Crisis and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the Marksmanship Rifle Badge.

After 23 years of service, Robert retired in May 2021 from his position as a detective for the Lakewood Twp. Police Department. He was a member of the Lakewood PBA Local # 71.

During his free time, Robert loved attending country concerts with his family, riding his Harley Davidson, and following NASCAR. He was known for his spackling and taping skills and would often help a friend in need with home projects. Robert was a life of the party and always had a story or joke to share. He fought against non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and ALS for seven years and remained a friend to all. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Robert is survived by his wife of 32 years, April Anderson; his daughters, Kelly Badilla and Katelynn Anderson; his grandchildren, Alexi Bell, and Joseph Rivera; and his great-grandchild, Averie Bobbi Cherie Bell.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, from 4-7:30 PM at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. A funeral service with military honors will follow at 7:30 PM.
