On Friday, May 19th @1000am at the Ocean County Police Academy there was the annual fallen officer memorial service with the families of the fallen officers present.
Captain Joseph Goertz had his name placed on the memorial wall during the ceremony. The Richter, Preslar, and Matlosz families were all in attendance.
Afterward, at headquarters in the lobby, the unveiling of Captain Goertz’s bronze plaque on the LPD wall of fallen heroes was presented to the family for our beloved Joe.
