STOP THE BLEED – LAKEWOOD COMMUNITY COALITION & HOMELAND SECURITY INITIATIVE
On Thursday, June 13, 2024, the “Stop the Bleed” training event was a resounding success. This collaborative initiative between The Lakewood Community Coalition and Homeland Security significantly enhanced safety and preparedness.

June 7, 2024, at 3 p.m., Officers Jeffrey Emmons and Joseph Soriano patrolled 2nd St. & Clifton Avenue and observed Abagrito Vasquez-Martinez, 68, from Lakewood, N.J. from previous encounters. Dispatch confirmed that Vasquez-Martinez had an active warrant for failure to appear, and drinking in public, he was subsequently arrested.

CELEBRATING LPD’S FINEST GRADUATES – CLASS 117!
Congratulations to Nicholas Meyer, Corey Maliffe, and Nicholas Florio on their graduation from the Ocean County Police Academy. They are part of 117th class to complete the Basic Police Officer Course.
Officer Nicholas Florio received the Academy’s High Academic Award with a 99.09% average and Officer Corey Maliffe was awarded the High Firearms Award for marksmanship.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
May 27, 2024, at 5 a.m., Officer Gregory Cannon was in the parking lot of 231 Third St. and recognized Timothy B. Sullivan, 31, from Somerville, N.J., as the suspect from a previous crime from the surveillance footage he viewed. The officers arrested Timothy and charged him with Criminal Mischief.
