#photo array- Lakewood’s Police 12 Chiefs and 13 Fallen Officers Honored in Ceremony at the Sheldon Wolpin Lakewood Historical Museum.

All in attendance paid tribute, Thursday, June 16, 2022 by remembering the history of the past Chiefs and the fallen officers.

The day began with a tumultuous downpour, amazingly, at the commencing of the ceremony, the rain stopped completely allowing for the beautiful event to unfold.

The museum grounds were filled with friends, families, officers, retirees, past Chiefs and the residents of Lakewood bearing witness to the special heart-felt ceremony.

Cori Scotti – Our Lady Of Guadalupe of Parish- sang so beautifully in a cappella “The Star Spangled Banner” ; she is true brilliance.

The fire department gallantly displayed the tower ladder truck with the Grand American Flag draped over the “UNITY WITH THE COMMUNITY” 1941 Oldsmobile car (by Shrage Pinter) with the 13 fallen officers names on the door panels, and the police shield. Creating a harmonious display! First Responders we’re also in attendance to show their respect and support as well.

During the Ceremony and prior to Chief Gregory H. Meyer announcing the fallen officers, the NJSP helicopter flew over the museum to show their respect and to honor the LPD Police Honorial Ceremony.

Special thanks to Bob Sinnott playing the Bag pipes and to Robert Lawrence who played Taps.
