On February 17, 2024, Chief Gregory H. Meyer commemorates an impressive 38 years of dedicated service. Having assumed the role of the 12th Chief of Police for the Lakewood Police Department on August 1, 2016, Chief Meyer has been instrumental in steering the department through a period of growth and evolution.
As the Lakewood Police Department expands, so do its objectives and initiatives under Chief Meyer’s leadership. A resolute commitment to effective crime reduction, the cultivation of public trust, and the well-being of officers remains at the forefront of his vision. This commitment is realized through the provision of top-tier services, deployment of advanced mobile equipment, integration of contemporary in-house technology, ongoing training for the entire staff, and the establishment of new positions aimed at better serving the community.
