As we celebrate Black History Month, the Lakewood Police Department honors Officer Rodale Ingram! Officer Ingram is an alumnus of Lakewood High School, where he was a multi-sport varsity athlete, Ingram then obtained a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with the help of scholarship funds provided through Lakewood High School and prayers from loved ones.
Officer Ingram was hired by the Lakewood Township Police Department in 2019. Through his role in the patrol division, he was able to be a service to those in the Lakewood community, but he felt there was more work to be done.
Officer Ingram began his non-profit New Jersey Dream Elite Inc. in January of 2021. Through that organization, he has been able to provide mentorship, academic guidance, athletic opportunities, and an understanding of the value of giving back to the youth and families of youth in Lakewood. New Jersey Dream Elite has organized clothing drives for the less fortunate, provided food to the displaced segment of our community, and connected families to resources for general assistance.
Officer Ingram credits his faith in God, the support of his wife and family, as well as religious allies, for his ability to make an impact in the community. He unquestionably makes sacrifices both personally and financially to assist those in need. In doing so, he is reminded that he was once in need, and without the help he received, he would not be blessed enough to pay it forward.
Officer Ingram attributes his grandmother to introducing him to this quote. “Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable… Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.” – Martin Luther King Jr
The Lakewood Police Department extends heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the incredible deeds of Officer Ingram, who selflessly uplifts less fortunate children and paves the way for their brighter futures. Your dedication is truly commendable and deeply valued. #CommunityHeroes #Gratitude #blackhistorymonth2024
