AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
February 8, 2024, at 2:30 p.m., Officer Tara Morgan was flagged down by a concerned citizen reporting that in the area of Ocean Avenue and the railroad tracks, there were two males in a physical altercation and one of the males was using an object. Rogelio Cruz-Romero, 39, from Lakewood, N.J. was subsequently arrested for aggravated assault with a weapon, and the victim declined medical attention.
Officers Jon Pederson, Taron Townsend, Joseph Dellavella, and Michael Livingston assisted in the investigation.
WANTED PERSON
February 9, 2024, at 12:30 p.m., Officers Jeffrey Emmons and Joseph Soriano were in the area of 3rd Street and Clifton Avenue, and observed Oscar Gonzalez-Ortiz, 38, from Lakewood, N.J. The officers recognized Ortiz from previous encounters and requested dispatch to check for any warrants. A local warrant was confirmed and Ortiz was subsequently arrested and brought into headquarters for processing.
DRUGS
February 9, 2024, at 1:00 a.m., Officer Richard Uriarte was on patrol in the Madison Avenue area when he noticed Nathaniel Frison, 35, from Lakewood, New Jersey. The officer recognized Frison from previous encounters and requested dispatch to check for any warrants. A warrant was confirmed and Frison was arrested as a result. During a search incident to arrest, Frison was found to have paraphernalia and was charged with related offenses.
Officer Leonardo Shimonovich assisted in the investigation.
DWI
February 11, 2024, at 1 a.m., Officer Richard Uriarte was patrolling in the area of Coventry Square and observed a driver slouched in the vehicle with the ignition turned on. The officer checked on the driver to ensure his well-being. Galacio Garistaoritz, 38, from Jackson, N.J. was arrested for DWI and charged with related offenses.
Officers Bryan Vega and Julian Guzman assisted in the investigation.
